Class A- City Co-Sponsored Groups or City of Somerton Agencies.

Class B Residents/ Non residents- Social. Private individuals or groups using facilities for the purpose of social gathering or functions.

Class C- Nonprofit. Residents/ Non residents. Groups, or organizations using facilities whose purpose is clearly of a non-profit nature. This applies to organizations that have been given exempt status section 501 of the United States IRS.

Class D- Commercial. Individuals, groups, or organizations using facilities for raising.

Please note the following restrictions and regulations:

A deposit is required to hold the date of your event. This money will be reimbursed in full if the building is left with no damages and clean up is satisfactory. The building will be inspected following your event. Tables and chairs should be wiped off and placed back, decorations and tape off the walls, trash taken outside, any trash on the restrooms, hallway, main entrance, and in the gym floors must be picked up. Any rental equipment must be taken out that night, if any equipment not belonging to our facility is left it will be taken outside by our parks maintenance staff (it is not our responsibility). You should receive your full or partial deposit 2 weeks after your event.

Supervisors are not allowed to take any cash payments for extended hours. Any extra hours have to be authorized by Director and will be taken out of deposit.

Tables and chairs are provided at no additional cost. The number of tables and chairs available is not guaranteed due to damages/lost/stolen of previous usages.

Rental fee must be paid one month prior to your event, fee also includes Parks and Recreation Employee which must be present at the time of your event to supervise proper use of the facility. This person will be here to open for your set up, throughout your event, and for clean-up. He/she will secure the building after the event, (city regulation the event must end no later than 1:00am).

Cancellation, notice must be given at least 2 weeks before date of your event to receive your reimbursement.

A $75.00 fee will be charged if you would like to have someone clean up after the event. (Must be notified one month in advanced).

An alcohol permit must be purchased, if alcohol is to be served. Alcohol should not be served to minors. This permit is not valid for the sale of alcohol (a special state permit must be purchased). Alcohol can only be served in keg (only 1). Glass bottles or aluminum cans are not allowed. Keep in mind not to use Champaign bottles as part of your decoration, and if there will be a toast the bottles will be kept stored by the supervisor and only brought out for the toast, immediately after use it must be thrown away or stored.

Permit holder must check with the Security Guard Agency of any restrictions on type of alcohol consumption.

If you will have alcohol served the City also requires the permit holder to hire 2 security guard. Proof that the service has been contracted should be turned in 2 weeks before the event date. The guard must be uniformed, certified, and bonded. The security guard must be present at the start and end of the event.

The kitchen is only to be used for serving not for cooking or preparing. As a fire hazard we do not allow any candles to be lighted.

All the fees, times for set up (decoration & music), event time, clean up time, and security guard proof must be ready one month prior to your event date, or your event will be cancelled.

The permitee and all individuals, and group, club, organization or association occupying or using the facility, or any portion thereof to the permit, as an express condition of such occupation or use, shall hold harmless and indemnity the City of Somerton and all City employees and officials against all damages to the facility, including but not limited the death or any injury of any person whomsoever arising out of or resulting in any way from such occupation or use. When, in the sole opinion of the Parks and Recreation Director, an activity, event or function may place the City or any other party at a substantial risk for damage, injury or death, the permitee may be required to furnish the City of Somerton a certificate of liability insurance naming the city as an additional
insured for coverage of the type and in the amount determined by the Director in his/her sole discretion.
